Ferrari F40 - 1:43

The last car Enzo signed off on.

Built for Ferrari's fortieth anniversary in 1987, the F40 was the old man's parting statement: a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V8, a composite body you could see the weave through, and an interior stripped back to pull-cords instead of door handles. It became the first road car past 200 mph, and it did it with no traction control, no power steering and nothing between the driver and the boost.

A single field of red fills the frame behind it, no scene and no distraction, because this is the car that defined what the colour means.

Nothing since has felt this raw.
